Supporting Lazyrecords
On Pricing
This project was never created to make money.
This is, at its heart, a project about connection. A connection not only with the music world, that has offered us so much in terms of personal and creative growth, but also with all of the incredible people we were able to meet by virtue of shared passion, bringing together the outcasts, the deviants, the lovers, the creatives and the eccentrics of the world.
What drives us isn't revenue or metrics but a simple desire to keep the spirit of crate digging alive and well, especially in a world increasingly driven by algorithms and data-driven suggestions.
We’re not backed by investors or driven by external pressures.
We rely on you — the music lovers, the curious listeners, the community — to sustain our platform & server costs. We’ll always prioritize transparency and affordability. If we ever adjust our pricing, it will be guided by the collective needs of this community, with the intention of making the app faster, more resilient, and more enriching. And we promise to stay flexible: if financial barriers arise, we’ll work with you, not against you.
Thank you for joining us on this journey, for your curiosity, your generosity, and for helping give way to the sounds that have shaped who we are today.
If you have any feedback, we would love to talk. You can reach out to us on Instagram or via email.

Special thanks to
This project would not be possible without the feedback and support of our closest friends, notably: Matt, Sam, Paul, Elliott, Brandon, Zoë, Spencer K, Liz, Parker, Spencer C, Nick and Evan whose guidance has helped make this platform what it is today.
Extra special thanks to:
- Pete from 56.digital for providing valuable design feedback;
- Robert Aterman for rewriting an old script used for formatting release data in C++.
- Tim Reaper for covering some of the initial infrastructure costs;
- @al11z for providing additional 3D visuals;
A big thank you to music platforms such as Discogs, Bandcamp and Nina Protocol for helping support the music community, and to Are.na for being a constant source of inspiration in the face of an internet riddled with computers telling us what we should or should not see/hear/etc.
Most of all, thank you to the artists who relentlessly create and push boundaries, filling our world with the sounds, stories, and emotions that make our lives richer.
